Weekly file: art is in the air

Last week was First Friday in Boston, and it was pouring rain, but there was such good energy in the air, and it felt great to see so many people out enjoying the scene.

First Friday takes place at art venues all over the city on the first Friday evening of the first week of every month.  It's a night when many galleries keep their doors open late, there are art openings, and often other special arts-related events.  September marks the start of a new art season for the galleries, so this past First Friday had a certain sense of anticipation and excitement.  Racing between packed galleries and downpours in Boston's SoWa district, we ran into old and new friends, and saw some really good art.  Worth marking your calendars for the next First Friday.
