Weekly file: strong galleries are part of a healthy market

While the focus of our efforts is to promote the work of local artists, we also like to help grow the Boston art market generally. That includes highlighting the work of exceptionally talented people whose work catches our eye in local galleries, even when they don't otherwise have a clear connection to New England. This artist has been one of our favorites for several years, and is making tidal waves across the border up north. After having had a solo show a few years ago at a top-flight Newbury Street gallery, we're glad to see that some more recent examples of his work have recently landed in town. His work is hilarious, yet imbued with a deceptive sophistication that gets under your skin.
