Alexandra Rozenman, Moving in with Leonardo, 60 x 50 inches, oil on canvas, Courtesy the artist.
This artist was born and raised in Moscow, and came to America as a political refugee. After moving from New York to Boston, she received a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from the Museum School, and pursued a career of teaching and painting. A teaching position brought her to Minneapolis, where she worked for ten years, finally moving back to the Boston area four years ago, where she has settled into a space in Allston where she runs a painting school and makes her own art.  Her work is a wonderful joyful blend of art historical references, cultural influences, and fantasy.
