We make it our business to find high quality works of art that complement and enhance people's living spaces. Some homeowners are drawn to unique, statement pieces. Works that really stand out, that are out of the ordinary, even offbeat. Often, however, we are commissioned to look for art that will simply look good in a room. There's nothing wrong with that, we love both approaches.
The artist whose work we are showing today evidences both sides of that coin. On the one hand, we see a piece that is interesting in its reference to work of a few decades ago, yet with a fresh, contemporary twist. That painting could easily enhance and fit in quite seamlessly within a room whose design elements lean toward the clean lines and colors of the "mid-modern" aesthetic that has seen a popular resurgence in recent years.

On the other hand, we were intrigued by the strong subject matter and surrealist bent evidenced in what the artist has termed his "environmentalist" painting. Duck, fish, water, all very realistically painted, yet in a playful, imaginative composition that is anything but "ordinary".
Interestingly, the two paintings were made recently at just about the same time by the artist. Same palette, a different direction, a mix of styles for us to appreciate.
